In short
How does an online store migration to Shopify work?
It starts with a free assessment based on a questionnaire. Then we agree what will be imported, I prepare a data mapping and a map of the old and new URLs, and we place a test order. The domain is pointed to Shopify after the final check. The portfolio price starts at €1,590 excluding VAT, and the standard price at €2,190 excluding VAT.
What moves across in a migration from CloudCart, OpenCart or WooCommerce?
In the base package, I import products, variants, images, collections, customers, pages, blog posts and SEO metadata, and prepare 301 redirects. Historical orders are quoted separately. Data from review apps, loyalty programmes, historical analytics and saved payment methods usually cannot be imported directly. The exact list is recorded in the data mapping document after reviewing the export.
How long does a migration to Shopify take?
Usually 3–5 weeks from the data audit to launch. Before that, the free assessment takes up to 3 working days. After launch, I monitor the redirects, indexing and errors for 30 days and send a short report. The timeline starts once access is granted and the data is ready, and it is extended if the materials arrive late.

Frequently asked questions
Which platforms do you migrate stores to Shopify from?
I migrate from OpenCart, WooCommerce and CloudCart. I also work with custom platforms, but there the scope is set once I see what the data export looks like.
Will I keep my Google rankings after a migration to Shopify?
I cannot guarantee that rankings will be kept. They depend on Google, the competition and the state of the old site. My job is to plan the redirects, move the metadata and monitor for errors for 30 days after launch.
What happens to the old URLs?
I crawl the old site and collect the URLs that can appear in search engines. Where there is a suitable new page, I set up a 301 redirect. URLs with no meaningful equivalent stay 404, rather than misleadingly sending people to the home page.
Can everything be exported from the old platform?
No. The export usually includes the products, customers and content, but data from external apps often has limits. This affects reviews, subscriptions and loyalty programmes, for example. Historical analytics and saved payment methods cannot be imported directly either. We agree all the exclusions before we start.
Why are historical orders not included?
Different platforms store orders in different ways, and moving them often needs separate processing. If you need them, I will include them as an add-on or a separate quote after the assessment.
How long is the store down during the migration?
The new store is built in parallel while the old one keeps selling. The switch involves pointing the domain to the new store and takes minutes, but full propagation depends on the providers’ caches.
What do I need to give you for the migration?
I need full admin access to the old platform, access to the hosting, Search Console and Analytics, and the contracts with the couriers. The hosting is needed for the archive, and Search Console shows which old URLs have visibility and traffic.
What is the free assessment?
You fill in a short questionnaire about the platform, the volume of data and the integrations. Within 3 working days you get the main risks, the expected scope and an indicative price range. At this stage I do not need access to the store’s admin.
What happens to the old site after the migration?
I make an archive and hand it over to you. It stays with you as a backup of the old store. After the handover, I do not keep a copy of my own.
